"If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together" — Lilla Watson

United Against Violence (UAV) is a community-based violence intervention organization. UAV aims to foster a safer, unified world by proactively addressing the root causes of violence. Through education, community engagement, and evidence-based interventions, we are dedicated to empowering individuals and communities with the tools, resources, and knowledge to prevent violence and create lasting change for a harmonious future. Our commitment to Trauma-Informed Care gives us an advantage in working with high risk individuals because we understand that violence and trauma is directly correlated. While intervention is the goal of UAV, we believe working with the highest risk in communities gets results. UAV has a team that consists of community outreach workers and street outreach workers trained in techniques to intervene and mediate conflict.  The team canvass in the most violent areas in efforts to stop conflicts on the front end before things spiral out of control and lead to gun violence. We are looking forward to building relationships, partnering with the local businesses, educational institutions, health care systems and the community at large.
